No matter what, the following info is probably worth checking out.
Undergraduate and Graduate applicants will need to submit 8-15 original works of artwork, design, or creative writing.
Your portfolio may include any combination of these media, and should demonstrate and accurately represent your ideas and interests, creative practice, technical abilities, and artistic development.
We want to see work that reflects your individual perspective, creative decision-making, and potential for continued growth. Images of journal or sketchbook pages are encouraged when reviewing your portfolio in person. If submitting your portfolio online, sketchbook or journal pages should take up no more than two portfolio slots.
The work you submit should represent your own ideas, creative decisions, and contributions.
High school: While the Art Academy of Cincinnati accepts initial transcripts for current high school students, an official high school transcript with graduation date and final GPA will need to be submitted by July 1 for Fall applicants and December 1 for Spring applicants.
College: If you have taken any college courses or have Advance Placement (AP), College Credit Plus (CCP), Dual Credit, or International Baccalaureate (IB) credits, official transcripts and scores will need to be submitted as part of the application process.
Official transcripts should either be mailed to the Art Academy of Cincinnati Admissions Department, or emailed to admissions@artacademy.edu
GPA Requirement: Undergraduate applicants are expected to have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 (unweighted) on a 4.0 scale. The Art Academy of Cincinnati is test-optional, and SAT or ACT scores are not required for applicants who meet this minimum.
Applicants with an unweighted GPA below 2.5 may still be considered for admission by submitting an ACT composite score of 22 or higher or an SAT total score of 1060 or higher.
All applications are reviewed holistically, with consideration given to academic achievement, artistic potential, portfolio, and their completed application.
Graduate applicants must have a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale to be considered for admission.
This two-year undergrad degree combines Liberal Arts and Studio coursework in the practice of graphic design. Follow the process for applying for a BFA (outlined above!).
