FALL COURSE | Portfolio Preparation: Thursdays, October 15 – November 19

This advanced course is for high school students to develop, create, and present a final portfolio for the college admissions process. By participating in Portfolio Preparation at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, students will be guided by an AAC instructor on methods to produce quality artwork as well as how to present the work in an appealing and comprehensible manner. This course will culminate in a formal portfolio review by an AAC admissions counselor during the final session. Students will hone their skills in the Art Academy’s exceptional facilities while conceptualizing and composing multiple artworks to be considered as part of their college application.

It is suggested that students bring the tools and supplies they regularly use in their practice. Supplies will be different for each student, as they should correlate with their art/design interests. Below is a list that can be used as a guide.

• Sketchbook: Paper or digital drawing software

• Mark-Making Tools: Pens, pencils, markers, charcoals, pastels, paint, etc.

• Surfaces: Canvas, paper, fabric, wood panels, etc.

• Recycled Supplies: Newspaper, cardboard, found objects, etc.

• Tools: Brushes, scissors, tapes, etc.

• Cleaning Supplies: odorless mineral spirits for oil paint, etc.
