Meet Our Team

Racel Linnemann – Director of Office of Engagement

Rachel Linnemann is an Appalachian artist who received her Master of Fine Arts in 2021 from the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). She graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art and a minor in Psychology. This year, Linnemann was a visiting Artist for the University of Northern Colorado where her solo exhibition, Grit and Gristle, was displayed. She was selected by The Sculpture Center (Cleveland) as a 2024 Revealed Early Career Artist. Linnemann was awarded the $10,000 William and Dorothy Yeck Award in the 2021 Miami University Young Sculptors Competition, juried by Mark Dion. Her thesis exhibition at DAAP was awarded Best in School for DAAP CARES 2021. She has worked as a professional Artist, Educator, and Preparator for various organizations and her artistic practice develops a visual language surrounding labor, legacy, resilience, and joy.

Kelly Kroener – Office of Engagement Coordinator

Office: S254

Kelly Kroener lives, works and collaborates in the Midwest and abroad. She works in textiles, installation and site specific works that investigate place and body’s relation to more than human world. Her work has been noted in Art in America, The Dallas Morning News, and The Economist. With her partner Eli Walker she runs the influential gallery BasketShop on the West side of Cincinnati. She completed her BFA at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA in sculpture from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Her next exhibition is a two-person show at Spazio Morandi in Dallas, TX.

Office of Engagement Overview

Through the Office of Engagement, the Art Academy of Cincinnati provides accessible and immersive creative experiences for anyone in the Greater Cincinnati Region. We offer Adult and Teen art classes year-round, a youth-centric summer art camp, Middle and High School arts enrichment, and so much more! The Office of Engagement team is dedicated to engaging our community in and out of the classroom with quality instruction, social awareness, and dynamic experiences because we believe an art education is for everyone. Join us by signing up for a workshop, taking an ongoing course, invite us into your classroom, or meeting one of our visiting artists!
