In this course, students will use their imaginations to conceptualize and create costumes. Students will review and discuss successful costumes worn in film, theatre, TV, and cosplay. The instructor will teach how to practice good craftsmanship, how to properly use a sewing machine and patterns, and how to choose the best materials before constructing a costume by machine and by hand. By the end of this course, students will have learned how to enhance a story with costumes, express their individuality and a message through costumes, and employ proper sewing techniques.
Students interested in this course are encouraged to consider also enrolling in Teen Academy: Digital Game Art.
This course is only for teenagers, ages 13-18.
