Students in this course will study light and shadow, including the movement, color, and other effects that light and shadow create at different times of day and in different atmospheres. The instructor will then teach students how to portray these beautiful effects through various methods in acrylic painting and by implementing the appropriate elements of art. Students will participate in guided practices as well as create their own original painting. By the end of this course, students will have grown their skills as a painter in a supportive setting and will have expanded their portfolio with a new painting.
Students interested in this course are encouraged to consider also enrolling in Community: Representational Drawing.
