Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

The annual Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition initiative for creative students (grades 7-12) and the largest source of scholarships for young artists and writers. The Art Academy of Cincinnati (AAC) is producing the Regional Scholastic Art and Writing Awards of Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana on our urban campus in historic Over-the-Rhine.

  • Art & Writing Submissions Open: Wednesday, October 1, 2025

  • Art & Writing Submissions Deadline (PORTAL CLOSES): Friday, December 5, 2025 at 11:59 PM

  • Judging Timeline
    • Art submissions: December 10–December 19, 2025
    • Writing submissions: December 10, 2025–January 4, 2026
  • Regional Awards Announcement: Friday, January 16, 2026
  • Art Work Drop-Off
    • Tuesday, January 20–Friday, January 23 from 1–4 pm
    • Saturday, January 24 from 10 am–2 pm
      • Due to the predicted storm, drop-off on Saturday, January 24 is canceled. 
      • MAKE-UP DATES:
      • WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28, 8 AM-9 PM and THURSDAY, JANUARY 29, 8 AM-9 PM
      • We would greatly appreciate final drop-offs to occur on Wednesday if possible.
    • Drop-off instructions have been emailed. All work must have an Exhibition Label Form with it when dropped off.
  • Exhibition Opening
    • Friday, February 6, 2026 from 5–8 pm
  • AAC Open House & Scholastic Exhibition
    • Saturday, February 7 from 11 am–1 pm
  • Exhibition Visiting Hours
    • February 7–22, 2026, open from 11 am–5 pm
  • Artwork & Award Pick-Up
    • Saturday, February 28 from 10 am–2 pm
    • Monday, March 2–Wednesday, March 4 from 12–5 pm
