as we take over

The Art Academy of Cincinnati presents As We Take Over, a group show featuring artwork by the students of AAC’s Exhibition Studio class. In the class, students develop a body of work to be displayed in a series of popup exhibitions around the Greater Cincinnati area.

For this first exhibition of the semester, thirteen students were invited to create new artworks to be displayed in the school’s Chidlaw Gallery. As We Take Over presents an eclectic range of media: printmaking, painting, sculpture, video, live performance, and more. However, all the works included revolve around the central theme of human interaction with the environment, and the full range of that interaction’s connotations, such troubling environmental concerns, hope for future interactions, what the world is like with us here, and what it could be like when we are gone.

Please join us for a public reception on Final Friday, September 30, from 5—8pm, with a live performance at 6:30pm.
