Now in its twenty first year, SOS ART 2023 presents for 24 days an art show and event of creative expressions for peace and justice.

More than 100 Greater Cincinnati artists will participate in this year’s SOS ART event at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, from Friday, June 23rd to Sunday, July 16th, 2023. The exhibit will also include miniprints on peace and justice by artists from all over the USA.

Organizer and founder, Saad Ghosn of the University of Cincinnati, and other board members of SOS ART, have coordinated the art event of paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, installations, dance performance, artist presentations, on current issues of peace and justice.

The event is a kaleidoscopic community view on the sociopolitical world. Works by local artists make powerful and diverse statements in support of justice and peace locally, nationally and worldwide.

The opening night, which includes introductory remarks and a tribute to late SOS ART fellow artist Tom Phelps, music, and a potluck reception, is Friday, June 23, 6 – 9pm. Closing is on Sunday July 16, 3 to 6pm, with artists walk and talk, an artist get together and a potluck. On Saturday July 8, from 2 to 2:30pm, is a dance performance by Japanese American dancer and choreographer Tadashi Kato; it will take place at the Annex Gallery, 1310 Pendleton Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202.

The visual art may be seen every day during the length of the show, Monday to Sunday from 9am to 9pm.

The entire program is free and open to the public.
