16 Karat Gold: Selections from the Art Academy of Cincinnati
AAC Students Present NYC Pop-Up Exhibition at Satellite Gallery
New York, NY — Art Academy of Cincinnati (AAC) is pleased to present 16 Karat Gold: Selections from the Art Academy of Cincinnati, a special pop-up exhibition featuring student work at Satellite Gallery, located at 279 Broome Street, New York, NY. The exhibition marks AAC’s first student trip to New York City since the COVID-19 pandemic, reviving a long-standing institutional tradition of immersive, off-campus learning in one of the world’s most influential art centers.
The exhibition showcases original works by over forty AAC students, all created on 16 x 16 inch paper and presented in a wide range of media, reflecting the breadth, experimentation, and rigor of the college’s emerging artists. All works will be available for purchase at $150, with 100% of sales proceeds going directly to the student artists. AAC extends special thanks to Satellite Gallery for generously hosting the exhibition and not taking a commission, ensuring full financial support for participating students.
The show will be juried by Brian Andrew Whiteley, owner and founder of Satellite Gallery and the internationally recognized Satellite Art Fair in Miami. Awards will include one Best of Show and two Honorable Mentions, with cash prizes presented to selected artists.
A public reception will be held on: Friday, March 13, 2026 from 7:00–10:00 PM
The exhibition coincides with a three-day immersive New York City experience for AAC students, offering direct engagement with galleries, museums, and the broader contemporary art ecosystem. This trip continues AAC’s tradition of experiential learning beyond the classroom—connecting students to professional practice, critical dialogue, and the realities of exhibiting work in a major art market.
The New York City trip and exhibition are generously funded by the Magic Rubber Chicken Foundation and private donors, whose support makes this transformative opportunity possible.
Through 16 Karat Gold, AAC celebrates student creativity, resilience, and the return to collective artistic engagement on a national stage.
