This course is an introduction to the tools and techniques of woodworking. Students will learn how to safely and confidently use hand and power tools while creating small functional or sculptural projects. The instructor will teach joinery, measuring, cutting, and finishing, along with a focus on material understanding and design. Each participant works through their own project while learning from demonstrations and discussions about the relationship between craft and form. No prior woodworking experience is required.
Required Materials: Wood (which you can bring in after your first class session), a notebook, and a hammer
