Sickly Sweet

The Art Academy of Cincinnati presents SICKLY SWEET, a group show featuring artwork by the students of AAC’s Exhibition Studio class. In the class, students develop a body of work to be displayed in a series of popup exhibitions around the Greater Cincinnati area.

SICKLY SWEET is the class’s first popup of the semester; twelve students were asked to collaborate on an exhibition to be held in AAC’s Chidlaw Gallery, and they responded by creating works in a wide variety of media, including painting, mixed media, photography, sculpture, video, and more. The resulting exhibition is a testament to the narratives, comparisons, and contrasts that inevitably arise when any such varied group of works is brought together. At the same time, it highlights the personalities, material interests, and wide-ranging points-of-view of the artists represented.
