The Art Academy of Cincinnati Presents
Levitating Monks: Nothing Left But Memories
The Art Academy of Cincinnati is pleased to announce Levitating Monks: Nothing Left But Memories, a site-specific, collaborative art installation that will immerse the viewer in a frenzied, psychedelic mix of digital and analog culture. Created for BLINK Cincinnati by Bunk News, Channel 77, and Matthew Dayler, this unfiltered, multi-media installation will take visitors of the Art Academy’s Pearlman Gallery on a journey through time and space that questions reality and our future existence. Please join us for a public reception on Friday, October 11th, from 5—8pm.
About the Artists:
Bunk News has a long history of event-based creative endeavors, often involving live visuals, lighting, installation, and stage design. The artist group has hosted many events in various DIY spaces and has created site-specific installations at music festivals, galleries and bars.
Channel 77 creates video art installations that capture the mesmeric waves of analog signals. Their unique brand of video art celebrates delicious visuals by sampling found footage and creating original content.
Matthew Dayler is a faculty member at the AAC, and one of the founders of Xylene. He has been creating interior and exterior murals for the last 10 years.
