I MARK MY DAYS
An Exhibition by Sam McCormick
The Art Academy of Cincinnati is pleased to present I MARK MY DAYS, an exhibition by Sam McCormick. I MARK MY DAYS is an ongoing, daily accumulation of mixed-media works on paper. Each piece represents an interrogation of a 3×5” surface-space—a continued engagement with the passage of time, via mark-making. Spanning from 2016 to the present, this daily ritual of rule-breaking and rule-making serves as a new lens through which to see human life. Please join us for a public reception on Final Friday, October 25th, from 5—8pm.
About the Artist:
Sam McCormick is a poet, visual artist, and harm reduction advocate. Their intent is to make poetry and art as accessibly and unapologetically as possible—to normalize crying, radical honesty, and a reckless engagement with our language(s). They are on a quest through their practice to be evermore authentic, audacious, and attentive; to apply the values of harm reduction to all that they can. www.iamsammccormick.com
