10/05/15, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Art Academy of Cincinnati welcomes fiction writer and filmmaker Nicholas Rombes and poet and AAC Alum Sam McCormick for a free public reading of their work at 7:00PM on Monday, October 5th at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. This is the first reading of the 2015-16 AAC Reading Series. The series is sponsored by the Liberal Arts Department, Student Services and the AAC Chapter of Poems While You Wait. See bios and links for both authors below.
Immediately following the reading, there will be a short OPEN MIC for anyone who’d like to share his or her work. As always, coffee and fresh-baked pieces of the cutting-room floor will be available to take the edge off.
Hope to see you at the reading!

Nicholas Rombes is author of the novel The Absolution of Roberto Acestes Laing and writer and director of the film The Removals, due out in 2016. His work has appeared in The Believer, The Los Angeles Review of Books, BOMB Magazine, and other places. He is a professor at the University of Detroit Mercy, in west Detroit.
Sam McCormick is a highly combustible bit of human matter. She is a poet, an artist, and a recent graduate of the Art Academy of Cincinnati. In 2012 she started a poetry journal named Trigger and in 2014 launched the start of TheGreenhouse Poetry Reading Series. You can find her work in various places, like the mighty journals H_NGM_N and Forklift, OH. When she isn’t haphazardly running Trigger or TheGreenhouse you can find her hiding in a dark room with a mirror, turning on and off the lights, so that she can see her pupils working.
