The Art Academy of Cincinnati announces that Joan Kaup has joined their leadership team as Vice President for Institutional Advancement. In this role, Kaup will manage the Development Office, the Office of External Relations, and the Department of Community Education.

Since 1959, the Art Academy of Cincinnati has been exhibiting sculptures at the Civic Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati. What once started as stone carved sculptures shown on the patio of the Garden Center has now become site-specific installations found throughout the grounds including the Hauck Botanic Garden.
Adjunct Professor Corrina Mehiel is teaching a special course that is collaborating with the artist Mel Chin and his Operation Paydirt & Fundreds projects. The Art, Design, and Social Practice course will be holding public performances happening in April:

Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards has grown to be the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition initiative for creative teens and the largest source of scholarships for young artists and writers.
On November 7th, during the Celebration of Teaching luncheon, the Greater Cincinnati Consortium of Colleges honored some of the best Professors in the region with the Celebration of Teaching Award. Among them was the Art Academy of Cincinnati’s Assistant Professor, Jimmy Baker.

Art Academy Professor Jay Zumeta was appointed Consulting Curator for the Reinstallation of the ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman Collections at the Cincinnati Art Museum. The Reinstallation materialized after the deinstallation of The Collections: 6000 Years of Art which had been on view since December, 2011.

Art Academy junior Mandie Reiber won second place for her piece Frail entered into this years The Golden Ticket, held at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center. The exhibition showcases the diverse work from talented artists living or working withing a 25-mile radius of the Arts Center. Read More
