Tony Becker graduated from Yale College in 1981. For the last 30 years he has been making work in a wide range of mediums, from oil paint to rusty metal, paper, wire and wood. Landscapes, angels, nests and birds are some of the subjects of his work. He has exhibited throughout the country in places like The Cincinnati Zoo, The Dayton Experiencenter, Pace University and CREON Gallery in NYC.
His sculpture installation, Exodus/Elegy, concluded the 2007-2008 season at the Weston Art Gallery. He teaches oil painting and Thinking Abstractly in the Art Academy’s Community Education department and works with high school students in the Taft Museum’s ARC program. Recently, he collaborated with children of all ages on House, an installation at Prairie Gallery.
