MASTER OF ARTS IN ART EDUCATION

The Art Academy's undergraduate Master of Arts in Art Education program is a low-residency summer program to accommodate the schedules of working art/design educators.

There are three steps in the BFA application process: 1. Application 2. Portfolio 3. Artist Statement 3. Transcripts 4. Letters of Recommendation (optional). Once those steps are complete, the admissions team can review your materials to determine admittance and scholarship amounts.

THE APPLICATION

The Art Academy is currently accepting applications for Summer 2021.

PORTFOLIO

Applicants need to submit, 8-15 original works from art, design, and creative writing. Applicants should submit original work that demonstrates your personal ideas and interests along with technical abilities. Additionally, images of journal or sketchbook pages are encouraged.

There are several ways you can submit your portfolio:

ARTIST STATEMENT

Your 500-word or more artist statement should provide a brief personal history, including your educational background and work experience. It should highlight your commitment to teaching and state your reasons for pursuing an advanced degree.

Upload to your application portal. You will receive login information to your portal once you apply.

COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS

Please request the registrar from universities and/or colleges you attended to be sent to the Admissions Office at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Students must have a 2.0 or higher GPA to be considered for admittance.

Official final transcripts should be either be mailed to the Art Academy, Attn: Admissions or emailed to admissions@artacademy.edu

RECOMMENDATION LETTERS

One or two letters of recommendation should attest to your professional and scholarly experience. The letters should be mailed directly from your references to the Admissions Office at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. As this is optional it is highly encouraged.
