Housing

art academy of Cincinnati exteriorAll first-year students who reside outside the Cincinnati area are required to live in the Art Academy’s dormitories. Located in a renovated building a block from the main AAC building, the dormitories house 28 students in 12 apartment-style suites. Each suite houses from two to five students.

Any dormitory space not occupied by out-of-area students is made available to first-year students who live within the Cincinnati area on a first-come, first-served basis. To request dorm housing, contact Nancy Glier at (513) 562-6265 or nglier@artacademy.edu.

SECURITY
The dormitory building has only one entrance, which is viewed via camera 24 hours a day by security personnel. Access is granted only to those with a security ID. The building is fully equipped with smoke detectors and a fire alarm / sprinkler system. A trained resident advisor lives in the dorms.

PARKING
Parking is available at the Gateway Parking Garage, one block south of the school. Semester parking passes are purchased through the Finance Office.

HOUSING FEES
Dormitory occupancy for the 2009-10 academic year costs $6,000. A $250 dorm deposit is due by June 1, 2009. The dorms are available for occupancy on August 15, 2009. Students must vacate their units by May 16, 2010.

A $300 damage deposit is required during the first semester and returned after the student vacates the unit, minus any damage charges that may be assessed.

DORM MOVE-IN DAY is SATURDAY, AUGUST 15, 2009 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.


Occupancy in the Dorm is not permitted between Monday, December 14, 2009 to Saturday,

January 9, 2010, which is during the Art Academy Holiday Break.

The Dorm may be occupied during the Art Academy Spring Break, which is Monday, March 8, 2010 through Friday, March 12, 2010.

Last day to occupy the Dorm is Sunday, May 16, 2010.
