Art Academy Scholarships
Awards for Incoming First-year Students
The Art Academy offers two types of aid for incoming students: Portfolio Awards and Entrance Scholarships. The average Entrance Scholarship and Portfolio Award is $34,000 over four years (these dollar amounts are to be used for informational purposes only). The 2009-10 awards will be based upon the quality and quantity of the Entrance Scholarship application pool.
- Portfolio Awards. These are merit-based awards, renewed each year for up to four years. The award ranges up to $13,000 per academic year. The deadline to enter the competition for the 2009-10 academic year is March 2. You must be fully and unconditionally admitted to the Art Academy before March 2 to become eligible to compete for Portfolio Awards. Submit slides or a digital portfolio of your work to the Admissions Office.
- Entrance Scholarships. These awards are based upon academic achievement, as measured by high school GPA and test scores from the ACT or SAT. Entrance Scholarships range up to $4,000 per academic year.
Art Academy Special Recognition Awards
- Scholastic Art Awards Scholarships are offered to high school seniors who have received a Gold or Silver Award as part of the Scholastic Art Awards presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, Inc. The scholarship provides $6,000 to $8,000 over four years.
- Ohio Governor’s Scholarships are offered to Ohio high school seniors selected for the Ohio Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition. This scholarship provides $4,000 over four years.
Art Academy Continuing Scholarships
- Continuing scholarships are awarded to students after their first year of study and are based on need, talent and academic performance. These awards average $1,700 per year.
