Graduate Program Financial Aid
It’s only money.
If you want to be at the Art Academy—if you belong here—we’ll help you find the money to make it happen.
The Art Academy’s tuition and fees are 18 percent lower, on average, than those of other independent colleges of art and design in this region. Most of our students receive some form of financial aid, ranging from competitive scholarships to need-based grants and loans. We urge you to contact the Art Academy Financial Aid Office at (513) 562-8751.
The two most common sources of aid in the MAAE program are:
- Art Academy scholarships, funded by AAC
- the Federal Family Education Loan program (FFELP)
Art Academy Entrance Scholarships
Entrance Scholarships to the Art Academy of Cincinnati are merit-based. Awards range up to $2,500 per summer or a total of $7,500 for the entire program. Scholarships are renewable each summer and can be divided over a period of up to five years.
Three main criteria determine the amount of the scholarship: the quality of your portfolio, your college GPA, and the artist’s statement you submit with your application.
To be eligible for an Art Academy of Cincinnati MAAE Scholarship for 2009, you must be fully accepted to the Art Academy’s graduate program by May 1, 2009. To ensure admission prior to May 1, students should submit their applications no later than April 30, 2009.
Mary Coulter Clark Scholarships
Available through AAC, these are based on both merit (as measured by grade-point average) and demonstrated financial need. It is available to continuing MAAE students.
Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP)
The FFELP is a public-private partnership that delivers guaranteed low-cost education loans for students and their parents. Specific types of loans include
