Art Academy Design Seniors take top awards in AIGA portfolio reviews. On Saturday, April 18, 2009, AIGA Cincinnati held the annual Senior Portfolio Day at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Over 70 students representing 16 Art/Design programs from 4 states were in attendance. There were 50 reviewers (both professionals and design educators) who conducted 1/2 hour portfolio reviews- 3 for each student. Reviewers judged all the portfolios choosing 2 Best Print Design and 1 Best in Illustration/Digital/Photo.
We are pleased to announce that Art Academy senior, Thea Bergstedt took best in print and Art Academy senior Linda Winder took best in illustration and Linda's work received the most votes of all portfolios. The second top print portfolio went to Allisson Smith, a senior from U.C. DAAP.
Each student received a $500 award and invaluable exposure to the regional design community. Art Academy students Sarah Adkins, Alisha Bratt, Zac Giza, Kim Hart, Megan Hicks and Sarah Rocheleau all participated in the days events.
Congratulations to all!
