Recently I’ve been getting cabin-fever (in a manner of speaking) from being cramped in the ‘Nati for so many months on end. (And no, KY doesn’t count) So every once in a while, in my restlessness, I assuage this breed of anxiety by looking on studentuniverse.com for cheap cheap CHEAP tickets to random places. This time two years from now, I’ll be doing the same thing, but for a job or my Master’s.
Coincidentally, I called my brother today (I thought it was his birthday, but that’s not ’til next week), and found out that he’s trying to go to Wales (the country in the UK) to get his Master’s (in Physics, the Einstein) because he wants to play international Rugby, as well.
SO, there I was, searching flight tickets to Bordeaux, France, and there he was, buying them to go to Cardiff, and I thought to myself: why do we wait so long to go abroad. So many people dream of traveling to another country, but so few actually do it. I think it’s a lot simpler than most students believe; I think it’s a matter of saving the money (it’s cheaper than you think) and going when you have free time (who really celebrates for the WHOLE month-long winter break?).
So, I think that this summer, when I’ve up a little bit of money, I’m gonna take off work and spend a couple days in Seville or visit my brother in Wales, or at the very least, find some pretty scenery in Canada.
