It’s COMING!!!!!  The moment we’ve all been waiting for!  The break of all time….SPRING!  Whooo!  I can’t wait.  The weather is warming up, the sun is shining (most days) and the parkas are being pushed to the rear of the closet once more.  Or at least that’s going to be my mindset.  I’m taking a bathing suit on my week-long break, too, just in case.  Where am I going, you ask? (Or don’t, if you’re a killjoy)  DUBLIN, Ireland and FRANKFURT, Germany.

Kayla and I are traveling to countries we’ve never seen for the break, and we’re doing it cheaply, most importantly.  We initially wanted to go to Amsterdam, Berlin, and Paris, but that’s just too costly.  It’s not absurd, in fact, it’s pretty cheap.  But c’mon.  We’re college students on a budget.  They are MUCH cheaper in April, so we’ll probably find time to go, then. If not, I won’t regret it:  Amsterdam doesn’t really appeal to me and I’ve already been to Paris.  Berlin isn’t worth $4oo right now.

SO, we’re going to Ireland and Germany, spending 5 days in each place, and only paying $3oo…all together.  Rooming, travel, the works.  I’m super excited to hang out at the bar after a day of touring Dublin, and chat with some old geezers over a beer while a game of Rugby plays in the background.  You may think I’m kidding, but I promise you I’m dead serious.  It’ll be nice to converse with someone in English without feeling bad about it. (I do try so hard to keep away from the Inglese when speaking to Italians, here.  How else will I learn?  Incidentally, I feel like a failure when I have to resort to English because I don’t know this or that word in Italian.)

I can’t wait to go to Germany, either.  Ich spreche kleine Deutsch, so it’ll be tough trying to muddle through, but from what I understand, their pretty fond of the English language. I’ll be sure to take MANY many pictures, and hopefully I’ll get some paintings done, too.  I hear Ireland (though not necessarily Dublin) has delicious landscapes.
