So Scott, one of mine, Kourtnei’s, Kayla’s and Julio’s buddies from Italy came to Cincinnati tonight and we all (minus Kayla, who’s in Chicago) hung out. Really we just went to Neon’s to have a drink and then went home. We tried to go to the Diner to get some food, but that ended up being a flop because the wait was so long. This has been my first full free weekend in a while, since I’ve quit the Diner (last weekend). I’m still doing PR and Marketing work for the owner, though, which I’m pretty excited about. Not only is the owner (Jay) a really nice guy, but he’s got tons of business intuition from what I can tell. I can only hope to learn and improve
In the mean time, I have to figure out a new regular income situation. Why can’t someone just sponsor me to breathe? I’d be amenable. I’ve applied to some places that I know I’d enjoy working: Jean Robert’s Table and Palomino.
And, yet again, in a whole new direction: I got a bike a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve been trying to ride it more and more. I have set myself a mission to live a healthy-ish lifestyle (today’s solid pizza diet notwithstanding) in the face of a busy senior year. My hope is that, come next summer, I’ll have built up enough strength and endurance to compete in a sprint triathlon. I have to get back into the swing of swimming, but it’s something I enjoy and I’m good enough at that I can turn my attention to the biking and running portions. Three miles isn’t a lot to run, per se (I did 6mi at the gym two weeks ago), but I just have to make it a habitual thing. And biking? We’ll work on the biking.
