Yes I know that it is a bit late to talk about the first week but I wanna do that!
It is not only my first experience of ACC but also it is my first experience of USA! I arrived US only eighteen ( not sure about the number, more or less, who cares!) days ago. It was a long long trip from Iran to US but definitely it worth it! Since I arrived in Cincinnati before starting of classes, I had enough time to become familiar with living in this country. Frankly speaking, I was a little nervous about going abroad and experiencing completely new life style. Actually, I think every body will has a similar felling about traveling to another country. I expected to encounter a lot of issues during the initial days, but fortunately, I have had no problem at all! I believe the only think that made everything easier to me was the cozy and warm atmosphere of ACC. After a week of being in the ACC, I really felt comfortable and relax here. like majority of students, faculty and staff are so warm-blooded. All of them unbelievably want to help you in every case. To be honest, I didn’t expect that!
The first week also was a little hard to deal for me. Some courses – which I am not going to mention them!
– took a lot of time to do their assignments and believe me there is always assignment for them, without any exception! The thing that made everything worse is the fact that I am not an organized person at all! And I am so famous in my family and friends as a person who always spouses ”to be late”. Let me put it this way, the most important challenge which I have to encounter with in my first semester in ACC is time management. In past, when I was working in Tehran as an art designer and Sculptor, there was no need to follow very strict schedule because that job was so flexible and I wasn’t obliged to participate in a certain place at the certain time! Oh god, I was free as a bird! anyway…
So, when you have lots of assignments to do and you are terribly disorganized and a little lazy ( just in case of routine appointments, meetings and classes
, not about everything!) and not use to do stuffs on time, without any shadow of doubt, you will get in trouble. But good news is that I am working on it and sooner or later I will defeat ”the evil of disorganization and laziness”!
Morteza,
I’m glad your first week went well! hopefully that class you wont mention will get better (if you are thinking the same way i was when i was a freshman i know exactly what class you were talking about!) If you ever need anything I’m sure you can find me around the school or on here! holla
Many thanks for bothering to line all this out for people. This write-up was quite helpful if you ask me.
It is perfect time to make some plans for the future and it is time to be happy. I have read this post and if I could I wish to suggest you some interesting things or advice. Maybe you can write next articles referring to this article. I desire to read more things about it!
