First of all, I’m not getting gelato for a long time. A VERY long time. I went in to get one this afternoon because it had been a dragging morning, and I wanted to cheer up. Wrong move. WHY did the cashier say 9,00 euro? Really? For 2 scoops? I argued and argued, “I’m not paying NINE!” And then she threatened to call the police. She wouldn’t have, but I didn’t feel like arguing and counter-threatening and decoding the italian accent and all that, so I gave it to her. I’m a sucker. A sucker who’s not getting gelato for a long time. A very long time.

I am an alumni of the AAC and went to SACI too (but in 2005). As for gelato, I made great friends during my time there with the woman that worked at the gelato shop in Piazza della Santa Maria Novella. I lived off of Via Porcelana so it was right around the corner from the apartment. They seemed to be the most friendly and reasonably priced. You should give them a try, if they’re still in business!
