Dear Kaitlin Edwards, you are making just rice right now and our dorm smells amazing. Teach me your ways. I cannot wait for you to start the hamburger, ’cause it is going to be amazing. Or maybe it is Kaite making the rice. I think it is both of you. Well, whomever it is, good job.
I love that we have started to cook more here in room eight. It is a nice way to get away from everything, run down to Kroger’s really quick and just bond over a good meal. Plus, we’ve got some good cooks in the AAC family. Sorry again for eating that whole pie yesterday, I could not help myself.
Today I had to actually go into the school. I know, crazy for a Friday, right? I really do like this three day weekend every weekend business. Thanks to twelve years of think Friday is a productive day drilled into my head so I still feel like work today.
Anyways, got distracted. Why I went to school today: We had our daily meeting for the video today. Half a dozen new people joined our ranks today and all the majors are now represented. I think we definitely made leaps of progress and people are starting to get a full grasp what was going on. I got some excellent feedback on my ideas which is always nice to hear.
After that I headed down to the woodshop. Now, the woodshop and I don’t exactly get along. It is not even that I hate it down there, ’cause I don’t. It is just that the woodshop hates me. One of the first times I was down there the disk off of the disk sander actually flew off while I was using it and almost hit a kid fifteen feet away. At least today it was only 2″x2″ pieces of composite. Nothing to dangerous. I survived. J.K., the guy who helps run the woodshop, helped me out otherwise I might have died. The staff here is all awesome and are always willing to put aside their time to help out. Now, I have (almost) tamed the saw.
I also found out that I am no better with the hammer today. Katie completely showed me up. Our ratio of nails hammered is 8:1. For you non-math type people out there, she nailed four nails when I only got one halfway in there. However, I still have all my thumbs intact and I have my minumentals cut and hooks on the back. Just have to paint them and glue the pictures on them. I am really excited for this show, I cannot wait to see everyone’s work.
Mmm…dinner is ready. You can’t beat being at college with crazy friends and still getting a home cooked meal.
Let’s hope I survive the work of the weekend. I’ll be back Monday.
Sounds like you are living the good life!! Glad your momma taught you early about not working Fridays!!:0)
Three day weekends are the best. Thursdays become Fridays and it’s almost like a four day weekend.
