Exploring downtown at a long weekend

After finishing my jobs in AAC on Friday at 10:00 pm, I went to my apartment at ”lovely” Vine St.! Since I was going to visit ”Cincinnati Art Museum” on this weekend, I had to go to bed soon and woke up early on Saturday morning. I’ve never been there but I heard that place is definitely must to see. during the orientation week we visited the CAC ( Contemporary Art Center) and another museum – what was that one?- those two Art museum are just for Modern art. To me, they are great and this is nice that the AAC is so near to them. But I do not know why there was nothing about ”Cincinnati Art Museum during the Orientation week! One possibility is that since the main emphasis in AAC is on Contemporary art, thus they thought there is no need to visit CAM. I do not know, maybe….

Coming back to the topic, everything was fine and I was preparing myself to go to sleep. After about 10 minutes I was almost slept that the….cellphone rang. Oh my god! That was him……my friend who is studying in UC. When I saw his name on the cellphone screen, I understood that my scheduled weekend is screwed up! Because whenever they call me ( my friend and his friends whom are mine too!) they have special plan in mind….

me: hello…..

he: get ready in a 5 min and we will com and pick you up. We are going to go to Bartini’s bar in downtown.

me: what? I can’t! I have to wake up early tomorrow morning.

he: shut up! we will be there in five minutes. just be ready [....]

me: [......]

he: [.....]

10 minutes later we are driving to walnut street where that bar is located. I hadn’t saw downtown that crowded before. There were many people there walking in the street, laughing, dancing, and kissing each other. I can say that 85% of them was drunk. Actually I really like that part of town during the day but that night I loved that area! It was fun and smoothing to be between the people that are enjoying their time. I really like bars and be honest, bars always are on of my favorite places to be explored every country that I visit. Turkey, United Arab Emirate (Dubai), Turkmenistan,…. but I had never been in a bar in USA. the entrance fee of the bar was $5 for each person. not bad! ha? and each bottle of beer costs you $4. I enjoyed every moment that spent in that bar. the only negative point of that bar was the fact that they just play 3 songs repetitively! :) ) I don’t know why! But in general it was cool. And there were something else that I think they are non of your business! :)

Although the first experience of Cincinnatian bar ( is this true? Cininnatian?)  was great, I am not satisfied by my weekend. Because as you can guess, I couldn’t wake up early on the next day and as a result I couldn’t go to the museum. Maybe if I turn off my cellphone the next weekend, I would go there! By the way, no body wants to go there the next weekend? I ‘ll be happy if we get together and go there.

The rest of my weekend till know isn’t worth to explain! Being out or in AAC in order to do the Core’s photo shoot project ( I don’t mean that…..forget it!) and spending 2-3 hours a day in Sculpture studio for doing the ordinary things, and trying to prepare a good article for the ”Artist as a writer” class. nothing more. Also I started to draw and continue my own interests. I am not quit sure yet, but maybe I would go to see the fireworks of Labor day tonight.
