Back in Cincinnati for Labor Day

Woke up pretty early Sunday morning and decided to head back to Cincinnati around 8 in the morning. Slowly but surely both LaRae’ and I said by to my parents and packed the car. Stopping here and there to get gas and food we inched our way out of Birmingham and started to head North.

LaRae’ and I ended up stopping in Nashville to pick up Sara Tucker who is a Freshman at AAC and also a Graphic Design Major.

After having an amazing breakfast/lunch filled with french toast and fruit we hit the road with one more person in the car which means more great conversations to follow. LaRae’ slept pretty much all the way back so it left Sara and I to talk about recent art we’ve seen on some of our favorite websites such as boooooooom.com (Sara’s favorite) and butdoesitfloat.com (my favorite). Along with all the art sharing we began to reminisce about old music that both of us listened to and some bands that I use to take photos for while they came through Birmingham at our local venues. All in all it was a great drive and I could not for any better traveling partners

Getting back to Cincinnati around 545 was amazing because we had just enough time to chill out and get our legs back from sitting in the car pretty much all day. One of the main reasons we came home on Sunday was because all three of us wanted to see the WEBN fireworks, which I have to say were sub-par as compared to last year. But regardless of how good they were its all about the company you spend time with while there, and i have to say once again this company was some of the most amazing people you could share that time with.

Once the fireworks had their big finish, we bolted towards Lyte apartments and took the tunnel out of the crowd which was simply one of the most amazing things because we didn’t have to deal with the huge crowd just random people here and there.
The way back to the apartment on 13th street was entertaining to say the least. People watching is simply one of my favorite past times and I could personally do it all day.
Getting back to the apartment at a decent time we hung out with all the roommates (just to clarify i live with 6 other people, all of my roommates with the exception of one go to AAC, the other roommate goes to DAAP :/ We live in a 5 bedroom apartment over on 13th street by the Pendelton galleries, so needless to say there is always something going on at our apartment). Everyone ended up calling it a night relatively early for us at the apartment, but I did not complain because I was straight up exhausted!

This morning went for an early bike ride out to Northside and visited the Spring Grove Cemetery and rode around there. I have never actually been out there before and it was one of the most peaceful places I have been in a while. Today however is a busy day for me. Once I get off of the dang computer I will be heading to the school with one of my roommates Britney Rhine who has one more color to pull on some prints for her Screenprinting Class with Matt Dayler; so while she does that I will be reading Vasari’s views on Michelangelo (o what fun). After that I have some landscape sketches and preliminary drawings to get started, probably going to draw from my fire escape because we have a great city scape view of all of Downtown.

But anyways that’s about all that has been happening. Glad we got a day off today but its going to be filled with work anyways, o well at least I’m doing what i love to do and having fun doing it!
