Fortunately, the christmas break is almost done and the next Monday classes will be started. I had such a good times during the break but it’s getting boring recently. I think I need to have busy times again like the previous semester. Actually I get bored by myself! I have spender the majority of my time by myself and it’s time to be with others. However I really needed to have this kind of solitary for personal reasons.

My plan to travel to philadelphia was changed because of an unexpected cause so I just stayed in Cincinnati and spender many times to read some books, watch good movies, and work on my individual drawings and sculptures. I have also became addicted to go to Cincinnati public library almost every day. Although we had had an orientation at the begging of the semester at there, I never went to there during the fall semester. That’s a really nice place to spent your lassoer times since they have a noticeable amount of books and other sources – in my case, Art books and movies. Living so close to the library, I can easily have access to hundreds of Art books about my favorites artists. It was really helpful for my recent intreat toward German Expressionist especially George Grozs , an extraordinary German painter and lithographer.

But there are some elements about that library that can really annoy you at the same time. Its internet speed is awful and sometimes really annoying. You can not use your laptop for accessing to internet at any corner of the library. You have to know the right places! I think they have to spend some more money for their internet service. And the electric plugs! oh….the majority of them are out of order! Another problem is that since the library is located  at the downtown and the Vine street, there are always some people who are not coming to the library for anything but using the library space to eat, rest, talk to their ….friends. I guess many of them are homeless people. Actually I have a paradoxical feeling about this issue. On one hand, I have great sympathy for these people and I can not stop thinking about them and their tough situations, On the other hand, imagine you are in library and trying to focus on a complicated subject in a book which you can not easily understand that and at the same time, there is a guy sits near you on the next chair who is loudly respiting continuously a F word maybe because he/she had one of those days or he/she just has fought with his/her friends. Using cell phones, listening to music without using headphone, eating in the main libraries are just some of other thing may get on your nerves when you are reading.

But don’t take it for granted. You have to take advantage of the Cincinnati public library even with this kind of issues. I really have had good times in there exploring verity of artists and their works published at several books. You can not always find every detail about an artist only in internet. Maybe I am a dinosaur, but I still prefer to use published books rather than computers. You know the smell of paper and this kind of stuff!
