AIGA, the professional association for design, has hundreds of chapters across the country. Its national membership includes more than 22,000 design professionals, educators, and students. The AIGA Cincinnati Center serves as a meeting place for professional and student member groups, offering professional development programs, events, and other resources for its members. All of these are available to AAC students.
In 2008 the Art Academy established its own student chapter of AIGA, which is open to students in the graphic design, illustration and digital design majors. AIGA campus chapters are designed to get students involved in the local design community, and help them build skills that will be valuable as they move into the professional world.
The Art Academy supports student membership in AIGA Cincinnati by paying for a portion of each student’s membership fees.
