Lumps and Lines
Evan Halter and Alicia Little received the Stephen H. Wilder Traveling Scholarship in 2013. This show exhibits work that was conceived as a result of the traveling experiences made possible by the scholarship.
Alicia Little traveled to Europe, specifically interested in Greece, to absorb the visual stimuli of European cultures. She used these experiences to generate new ideas and inspirations. Alicia’s work seeks to enlarge and dramatize mundane and interpersonal struggles with large, sculptural works.
Evan Halter went to New York City to participate in the Advanced Painting Intensive at Columbia University School of the Arts. This was a six week intensive that gives it’s students a condensed look at MFA program. Evan’s work centers on the straight line as a conceptual object, and is particularly interested in scrutinizing the gap between our lust for the perfect, and the reality in which we exist.
