Drawing Major

The Drawing program maintains formal and academic roots while letting students explore the dynamic, eclectic practice that characterizes contemporary drawing. It offers flexibility in the exploration of space and dimension, materials, and connection to other disciplines, enabling each student to develop a personal drawing vision and vocabulary.

Drawing majors learn the language of drawing and apply its flexibility, expansiveness and contemporary strategies to personal artistic ends.

The discipline’s usefulness for visual research, problem-solving, personal expression, and idea generation prepare each drawing major to join the workforce as a doer, maker, thinker, and problem-solver – a solid basis for entering / inventing numerous careers.
