Adults and Teens Community Education

The Community Education program offers courses for students age 13 and older in a broad range of disciplines.

Classes generally meet once a week for about 8-10 weeks, during daytime /after-school / evening / weekend hours, and are led by working artists and experienced instructors.
We offer a separate slate of classes for the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms; a given course may be available in one, two, or all three terms.

Broad content areas include:

  • traditional media (drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, etc)
  • communication art and design (including specific instruction in computer programs such as DreamWeaver, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
  • creativity and writing
  • woodworking
  • Portfolio Preparation: an intensive three week summer course that helps high-school artists get their work ready for college application. For more information on Portfolio Prep, click here.
