All pieces are 2x2 inches or smaller! Works by AAC Alumni, Students, Faculty and Staff on view! Many for sale.

We hope that you plan to come to the Opening Reception as it is a very fun evening and you'll have the opportunity to catch up with AAC professors and other alumni!

The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

Get SMALL with your Minumentals!(past)

Art Academy Alumni works are on view in the 2011 Minumental Exhibition in Convergys and Chidlaw Galleries, February 18-March 11, 2011. Opening Reception-February 18, 5-8 pm.

This annual exhibition is near and dear to many AAC alumni who fondly remember their small but highly creative 2 x 2 inch art works.  The exhibition, in its 24th year,  is open to all Art Academy alumni, faculty/staff and current students. Literally, hundreds of small work are on view and are available for purchase.

 CARNIBALL-Masquerade Beaux Arts Ball, Saturday, November 14, 2009

The Art Academy of Cincinnati’s Alumni Association announces its biannual Beaux Arts Ball called “Carniball” on Saturday, November 14, 2009. This festival fuses the performance aspects of the circus carnival with the Art Academy’s own artistic talent and flair.

This will be a unique costume extravaganza that promises to be the most outlandish fundraising event of the year. Side show acts by Dante’s Gypsy Belly Dancers, Pickled Brothers, acts of amazing feats of skill, Jamming Talent Productions Aerial Show, Presto Paul escape artist and acts by fire-breathers are among the attractions.

Commissioned artworks of one-of-a-kind puzzle games called “Artist Blocks” by renowned artists such as Thom Shaw, C.F. Payne, Jay Bauer, John Ruthven and more will be featured in a live auction (above and below). Plus original circus posters created by Art Academy students (examples shown left and below) will be auctioned off. A raffle of merchandise and gifts valued up to $1,500.00 will top off the night.

Other features include live music by Buckra and body painting by Fabulous Faces by Jen. Hors d’oeuvres and desserts will be provided by Queensgate Catering Service, and a cash bar will be available.

All funds raised from Carniball will support the Art Academy’s Faculty Development Fund. Our goal through this fund is to help offset some of the expenses needed to support the faculty and to continue to provide the highest quality of education for Art Academy students.

GENEROSITY: Toi Ungkavatanapong
On Saturday, November 8, 2008 the Alumni Association hosted its annual Fall party from 7-11 pm. Entitled "GENEROSITY," the party featured the body of sculptures that alumnus Toi Ungkavatanapong (BFA '85) generously donated to the Art Academy.

All sculptures were up for sale, with proceeds benefitting the Alumni Association's Undergraduate Scholarship Fund.

The Hair Ball, Saturday October 13, 2007
On October 13, the Art Academy of Cincinnati's continued its long tradition of Beaux Arts Balls with the Hair Ball. Friends, trustees, alumni, and students in masquerade attire partied for a good cause, raising money for the Alumni Scholarship Fund.

ARTOBERFEST, Saturday, October 21, 2006
On Saturday, October 21, Art Academy staff, faculty, students, alumni, and friends celebrated Octoberfest Art Academy style. Attendees enjoyed German cuisine by Kaldi's, Barrelhouse beer and live music by the Gashouse Guerillas in the Rob and Nono Allen Student Commons. The night was also a preview reception for the 2006 Alumni Show in the Ruthe G. Pearlman Gallery. The exhibition includes work by more than fifty alumni whose years of graduation range from 1930 to 2006. Howard Wells curated the exhibit.

Artists in Action, Friday, September 29, 2006
On Friday, September 29 6-9 pm, more than 300 visitors attended the second annual Artists in Action event. Community Education instructors demonstrated their artistic skills in classrooms throughout the building, and BFA students sold artwork from their studios. The students kept 100% of sale proceeds. Artists in Action was part of Enjoy the Arts/START's fifth annual 20 Days & 20 Nights Festival of Arts & Culture.

Bizarre Ball, October 8, 2005
On October 8, friends, trustees, alumni, and students gathered for the Art Academy of Cincinnati’s Bizarre Ball and raised $43,000 for the Alumni Scholarship Fund and New Building Campaign!

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and the First Day Classes, August 29, 2005
On August 29, Art Academy trustees, faculty, staff, and students gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony that marked the completion of 1212 Jackson Street and the first day of classes.
