SUMMER Portfolio Preparation

Pre-applicants should consider taking AAC’s Portfolio Preparation course, offered by our Community Education program every summer. Portfolio Preparation is intended for high school juniors, seniors and graduates who are preparing for a college level art program and is designed to strengthen their portfolios while introducing them to career choices in the visual arts. The sessions are taught by the faculty at the Art Academy of Cincinnati.

The course consists of two three-week sessions. Each session meets five days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. While figure drawing is presented in both three-week sessions, the sessions are otherwise distinct and cover separate material. Students can enroll in either one or both of the sessions. Coursework includes

• Drawing
• Painting
• Illustration
• Photography
• Sculpture
• Graphic design
• Studio tours
• Gallery visits
• Workplace exposure
