Scholarships and Awards for First-year and Returning Students

Awards for Incoming First-year Students
The Art Academy offers two types of awards for incoming students: Portfolio Awards and Academic Scholarships. The average combined Entrance Scholarship Award(Portfolio and Academic)is $34,000 over four years (these dollar amounts are to be used for informational purposes only). The 2010-11 awards will be based upon the quality and quantity of the Entrance Scholarship application pool.

• Portfolio Awards. These are merit-based awards, renewed each year for up to four years. The award ranges up to $13,000 per academic year. Deadlines to enter the competition are January 15, February 12, or March 1. You must be fully and unconditionally admitted to the Art Academy prior to one of these date to compete for Portfolio Awards. Submit slides or a digital portfolio of your work to the Admissions Office.
• Entrance Scholarships. These awards are based upon academic achievement, as measured by high school GPA and test scores from the ACT or SAT. Entrance Scholarships range up to $4,000 per academic year.

Art Academy Continuing Scholarships

• Continuing scholarships are awarded to students after their first year of study and are based on need, talent and academic performance. These awards average $1,700 per year.
