We encourage you to submit each component as soon as it is available; all materials are due by June 1, 2012, for the Summer 2012 session.
PORTFOLIO
Your portfolio should include 12 pieces of recent artwork that are representative of your art-making skills, originality, and individual expression.
If you live within 150 miles of Cincinnati, you are required to visit the Art Academy for a portfolio review and personal interview with the MAAE chair and a representative from the Admissions office. You should bring actual pieces of artwork, not slides or digital images.
If you live more than 150 miles from Cincinnati, you are still encouraged to visit the Art Academy for an in-person portfolio review and interview. If this is not possible, mail your portfolio in slide format or digital format burned to a CD. For slides, label the top of each slide with your name, the medium of the artwork depicted, and the dimension, and place the slides in a plastic slide sheet. If you send digital images, enclose the medium / dimensions on an accompanying list. Mail to:

ARTIST STATEMENT
Your 500-word artist statement should provide a brief personal history, including your educational background and work experience. It should highlight your commitment to teaching and state your reasons for pursuing an advanced degree
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Your two letters of recommendation should attest to your professional and scholarly experience. The letters should be mailed directly from your references to the Art Academy of Cincinnati.
TRANSCRIPT
You must have copies of your official academic transcript sent directly to the Art Academy from all colleges and universities you attended. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 is required.
COPY OF TEACHING LICENSE
Licensure as an art educator is strongly recommended in order to best fulfill the requirements of the degree.
