“There are a number of artists who have creatively bridged the artificial divergence that exists between communication-driven imagery and personal expression. Luba Lukova employs a bold, personal drawing style reminiscent of Matisse, combined with hand drawn type to create compelling visual metaphors for illustrated posters.”

“I’m currently working to establish a Center for Design at the Art Academy in partnership with AIGA Cincinnati. The center will function as a meeting space for the AIGA board and its membership, advance design education and archive regional design and documentation of AIGA events and programs. I am co-curating and designing an exhibition of nationally recognized Modern Rock silk-screen poster artists for the fall of 2009 and an exhibition of illustration. I’m also working on a manuscript for a textbook on design research methods and process.”
