The Art Academy and AIGA-Cincinnati are excited to host INK BLEEDS 3, the biennial gallery show that features poster art from the most audacious and provocative artists throughout the region. It's a night immersed in art, music, culture, and community. The show features 11 artists nationally renowned for their work in design, illustration, and print making, and each artist will create three custom IB3 posters to be raffled off that night. Artists include: Keith Neltner, Rob Warnick, Powerhouse, Tommy Sheehan, Angryblue, Libre, Southpaw, Brian Methe, Cricket Press, YES, Delicious Design League.
Entrance is free, but for a $10 donation that benefits AIGA Cincinnati, guests receive an event poster print signed by artists Rob Warnick and Keith Neltner, a raffle ticket, and two beer tickets. This year's event poster is a collaboration and true infusion of the Rob Warnick's whimsy and the gritty earthiness of Keith Neltner.
New art will also be created in real-time at the event. Guests are invited to a 'live draw,' where they put their pens to work to create their own INK BLEEDS 3 print. The night will also have a live soundtrack, with performances from The Mighty, Ghost Trees, and A Decade to Die For. A face painter will be on site to emblazon a 'third eye' on guests who are up for it. And food concession and beer for the event will be specially prepared by Kaldi's.
Art Academy of Cincinnati professor and Co-President of AIGA Cincinnati, Mark Thomas is joint curator of INK BLEEDS 3 with Intrinzic's Keith Neltner and Rob Warnick. "We've become a cornerstone of the revitalized urban core in Over the Rhine, so we feel a responsibility and privilege to provide opportunities for push the vibe forward," says Thomas. "INK BLEEDS has been one of the most popular and well-attended events for AIGA Cincinnati and the Art Academy because it reflects exactly what our members and students are most passionate about: creativity, culture, community, and of course, cool."
INK BLEEDS 3 will be held at the Art Academy of Cincinnati on Friday, November 18, 2011 sponsored by Intrinzic and AIGA Cincinnati, the professional association for design.
