High School Art Educator Exhibition Opens Friday, January 14.

 

The Art Academy of Cincinnati presents works by  50 local and regional high school art educators in a two-gallery exhibition that highlights art by teachers who expose students to art foundations and inspire young artists to respond to the world through visual art.

Exhibiting artists represent over 20 cities, including three cities in Tennessee: Nashville, Knoxville and Livingston. Artists from cities throughout the Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana region will present works from a wide variety of media including oil painting, pastel drawing, digital photography, glass, lithography, collage on canvas, fiber sculpture, watercolor, calligraphy, clay sculpture, acrylic painting, encaustic, charcoal drawing, mixed-media painting and sculpture, honey emulsion, beeswax and more.

Exhibition Dates: January 14 - February 11, 2011
Artists' Reception: Final Friday, January 28, 5-8 pm.

Many of the artists will be on hand at the reception to discuss their art and their roles as teachers of young artists.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Pearlman Gallery is on the first level of the North Building at 1212 Jackson Street across from the Gateway Parking Garage, and the Convergys Gallery is located  on the first level of the South Building. All exhibitions are  free and open to the public.

Hours are 9-9 Monday through Friday and 9-5 on Weekends.
