Activities
A variety of activities happen throughout the school year such as:
> smART talks, a weekly visiting artist lecture series with free food
> annual school trips to Chicago and/or New York City and/or Washington DC
> holiday parties
> Ohio River Boat parties
> Student Studio Art sales
> Advisor/Advisee meetings
> Career informational sessions
> Art Academy stinks soccer games(at the Cincinnati Sports Mall)
> and many other special events.

Spaces
Space is abundant and ready to be used by students throughout the building such as:
> The Commons on the first floor that allows students to congregate
and share ideas over breakfast, lunch or coffee from the Kaldi's Cafe.
> The Chidlaw Gallery located in the lower level is a gallery dedicated
to showing only student artwork and is organized by a student committee.
> Over 100 student studios throughout the building provide students with their own personal spaces in which to work.
> A quiet study room for when students need to concentrate on their academic classes > Individual critique spaces on each floor of the building for students to hold inpromptu crits with professors.
> An Academic Studies Center which provides students with computers, help with papers, study group
meetings and other academic studies help.

Area Memberships
> Contemporary Art Center - Currently enrolled Art Academy students recieve
$15 off the Student Membership Fee when they show a valid
Art Academy photo ID. Students only pay $10 for a year's membership.
> Enjoy the Arts - discounts throughout the city are given by joining
this discount ticket company. Student's cost is $25 to join.

Security
The Art Academy prides itself on giving each student a sense of security
while they are in the school. The Art Academy has hired Brantley
Security which is present at the front door at all times.
> The facility is a "lock down" building which means that all
students, faculty and staff must show and use a security card in order to
enter the building.
> Every student, faculty and staff member is given a photo ID card to
wear while they are in the building.
> We have an escort guard stationed at the front desk every night so students, faculty and staff
can be walked to their nearby car or apartment. Students, staff or faculty can call
513-562-6279 to arrange a pick up escort service from their car or apartment as well.
