Students are eligible for:
$ 8,500 in Subsidized Stafford Loans (if there is sufficient need)*
$10,000 in Unsubsidized Stafford Loan

$18,500 is the student’s eligibility for the entire program.

In order to qualify for a Stafford Loan, you must be taking at least 4 credit hours. All incoming
students receiving any federal loans are required to complete an entrance interview regarding
these loans. A student may apply through alternative loan programs if you take less than 4 credit

*Need is determined by filing the FAFSA each year.

MAAE SCHOLARSHIP STATUS
Students carrying a course load of 7 or more credits are considered full time and are eligible for
their entire scholarship award. The scholarship is decreased according to the following scale when
course load drops beneath 7 credits.

•  Full Time 7 or more credits
•  ¾ Time 6 credits
•  ½ Time 4-5 credits
•  ¼ Time 2-3 credits
